Herman G. Tucker - President and CEO
Mr. Tucker was born in Bermuda and has enjoyed a varied career in aviation and in 1978 received his Bachelor of Science degree in Air Commerce and Flight Technology from the Florida Institute of Technology and later received his MBA from the same Institute. In 1983 Mr. Tucker joined the Bermuda Government as a Management Trainee and progressed through the civil service until his appointment as Director of Civil Aviation in 1994. After 5 years in this position he was appointed to the post of Permanent Secretary to the Minister of Transport in 1999. He remained in this position until his acquisition of Bermuda Security Group Limited in June 2002 where he is President and CEO. In November 2002 he was also appointed as a Justice of the Peace.
Paul Ross - Vice President - Business Development and Finance
Mr. Ross was born in London, England and has enjoyed a varied career in both the local banking industry and exempt company marketplace. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University in 1982. In 1990 he attained the CCM (Corporate Cash Manager) designation and followed in 1994 by being awarded the AIAF (Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance). Mr. Ross has held jobs of increasing responsibility in the business environment succeeding in both the investment and insurance fields. Prior to joining the Bermuda Security Group he accounted for a significant investment portfolio, ensured that investment managers complied with established guidelines, and produced the five-year strategic plan for a mid-sized reinsurance company. Following that, Mr. Ross was primarily responsible for the accounting of a major hedge fund with substantial assets greater than $1 billion. He brings his 25 years of corporate experience to Bermuda Security Group.
Wayne Edwards - Vice-President - Security Services
Mr. Edwards was born in Bermuda and has enjoyed a varied career in law enforcement for over 20 years, which includes 16 years at H.M. Customs. While at H.M. Customs he spent 10 years serving on various enforcement support teams as well as managing the Joint Intelligence Unit. Mr. Edwards has a Diploma in Security Management from Leicester University and Certificates in Supervisory Management and Human Resources from the Bermuda College. Equally important, while at Leicester University, Wayne obtained a Master’s of Science Degree in Security and Risk Management in January 27, 2006. He also has benefited from Government sponsored courses and is a trained Intelligence Analyst and Commercial Fraud Investigator. Wayne joined Bermuda Security Group in June 2005, as the Aviation Security Contract Manager. He is responsible for managing the aviation security contracts held by Bermuda Security Group at the Bermuda International Airport.
Damian Brewster - Inventory & Sales Manager
Mr. Brewster was born in Trinidad, West Indies. In 1994 he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from The University of the West Indies. He has enjoyed a varied career in Operations, Sales and Supply Chain Management within manufacturing and commercial organizations in Trinidad, the British Virgin Islands and in Bermuda where he relocated to in 2004. Damian joined Bermuda Security Group in August 2006 as our Inventory and Sales Manager. He is responsible for managing all aspects of the Company’s purchasing and inventory management activities, as well as rationalizing the purchasing procedures and policies for the Group.
Freedom Burrows - Operations Manager – Guard Services
Mr. Burrows was born in Bermuda. He has been employed with Bermuda Security Group since September 15, 1995. He was hired initially as a Security Officer, but has worked in various disciplines for the company throughout his tenure. In December of 1995 he was promoted to the position of Night Supervisor. In 1996 as Bermuda Security Group took on a new contract at the Airport Security Police, he successfully completed associated course work which was acknowledged with a certificate from The Minister of Transport. Freedom then attained the position of Assistant Operations Manager, and in 1998 was promoted to Operations Manager, and was recently assigned the post of Operations Manager – Guard Services.
Arnim Donawa - Central Station Manager
Mr. Donawa was born in Trinidad. However, he was raised and educated in Toronto, Canada and received a Bachelor’s Degree from York University. Mr. Donawa has a varied work background from investment to hospitality. Arnim has been in Management for most of his working life. Arnim has been living in Bermuda for over 11 years. He joined BSG in November 15, 2006 as Central Station Manager and is also an Inspector in the Bermuda Reserve Police Service.
Charles Grainge - Technical Director
Charlie hails from the UK but is now a registered Bermudian. Originally with ADT in London he joined Bermuda Security Group in Aug 1986 as a service technician. He has progressed through BSG with an emphasis on the technology side of the business leading to his current position as the company’s Technical Officer. A member of the Institute for Leadership and Management, he is NFPA certified and holds an Associate Degree in Automation Management. Away from the office he is an active member of the Bermuda Music and Dramatic society.
Andrew Lavery - Compliance and Training Manager
Mr. Lavery was born in Scotland and has over 38 years law enforcement experience having served on four police departments in three countries including the U.K., Bermuda and Canada. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada, in 1985 and received his Diploma in Police Management from the Ontario Police College in 1991. Mr. Lavery has served mainly in the areas of Criminal Investigation, Homicide, Fraud, Computer Crime and Airport & Marine Security. Mr. Lavery retired from Policing in 2006 at which time he commenced employment with Bermuda Security Group as their Compliance and Training Manager.
Paul Nicholson - Installation Manager
Mr. Nicholson was born in Yorkshire, England and has enjoyed a career in the security industry for 14 years. In May 1998, Mr. Nicholson joined the Bermuda Security Group as a Senior Technician. His first major project in Bermuda was installing the Hamilton CCTV system. In April 2006 he became the Installation Manager. In this position he received certified training in Burglar Alarm Systems, CCTV, Card Access (Ccure800) and EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance).
Diana Sanner - Group Accounts & Payroll Manager
Ms. Sanner was born in the United States. She came to Bermuda after graduating from college to be with family. Ms. Sanner joined Bermuda Security Group in 1984 as a junior secretary and is currently the longest serving employee of the company. During her 22 years with the company, she has worked in virtually every department except sales and thus has an in depth knowledge of the security industry gained by on the job training. Her current role as Accounts Manager has her overseeing accounts receivable and payables as well as being an integral part of the internal control process.
Douglas Hines - Sales & Marketing Manager
Douglas Hines
is our Sales and Marketing Manager. He joined the company in 1995. Prior to
joining BSG Doug spent four years in the U.S. Navy working in the service,
retail and recreational operational sector of the civil service branch of the
U.S. government. Doug’s knowledge is a valuable asset when it comes to
completing security surveys in the commercial sector. Doug also has certified
training in CCTV, Access Control and Electronic Article Surveillance (product
tagging with door pedestals). Doug has also completed the Life Safety Sales
Academy through the GE ITI corporation training program.
